Welcome to the 2024 Big West Travel 10U/12U Registration Page with St. Michael-Albertville Girls Fastpitch Association.

The mission of the Saint Michael-Albertville (STMA) Girls Fastpitch Association is to provide a program for STMA area athletes to learn fastpitch skills, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of being on a team...all while having fun!

 

Ages: 10U (birth dates from Sept. 2012-August 2014)

          12U (birth dates from Sept. 2010-August 2012)

 

Uniforms:  Shirts, pants, belt, and socks are provided. Sizes for uniforms will be determined at or prior to tryouts. This season, the 10U/12U girls will receive two jerseys - one with sleeves and one without. Please be on the watch for the uniform try-on dates to be sent out. *Note: Each athlete will be responsible for supplying their own helmet. Registration Fee:

  • $500 (10U/12U Travel)
  • Extra pants: $40 (Each player will receive ONE pair of black pants already with their registration fee.) If you wish to buy additional pants on your own, they just need to be black softball pants.

The registration fee includes the $50 evaluation fee, Big West League registration, weekend tournaments, State Qualifier Tournament fee, State Tournament fee (if team qualifies), and uniform. Additional out-of-pocket costs may include entries for additional local/regional tournaments above what the Board registers teams for before the season starts, a National tournament, tryout prep clinics, or other expenses not already included in the registration cost. Additional tournaments are determined by teams and coaches.

Financial Assistance is available for those who qualify.

Evaluations: A $50 Evaluation fee is included in the registration fee.

  • Evaluations will take place on March 17th for all 10U and 12U Travel players.

Volunteer Fee: $300 per player. Volunteer checks are destroyed when volunteer hours are complete. You may buyout of the volunteer requirement with this registration for $300.  

Volunteer Hours: Four hours per player for 10U and 12U players. Volunteer checks are due at evaluations unless all hours are completed before then.  

Fundraising:  As many of you know, each year we do one fundraiser, our discount card sales. Our fundraising dollars this year have allowed us to offer free and reduced clinics, purchase dome space for our program, and purchase new equipment for our teams.

This year, all players will be required to sell five cards. You will be charged $100 for the cards when you register. As you sell them, the money is yours to keep. These cards will be given to you at the beginning of March, so please watch your email for distribution dates.

Online Payment (preferred method of payment):  Quickbooks invoices for payment will be sent via email (to the email address used at registration) within two days of when your registration is submitted.

Mail Registration (alternative method of payment):  If paying by mail, please send a check, along with a printout of your Quickbooks invoice to STMA GFA, P.O. Box 297, St. Michael, MN  55376. Installment payments may be made if paying by mail, but registration must be paid in full by 3/1/24 or payment arrangements should be made with Jay Houghton at president@stmagfa.com prior to the registration close date of 3/1/24. No child will be allowed to participate until all payments/checks have been received and ALL open invoices have been paid.  

 

TRAVEL REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  March 1st, 2024

Late sign-ups will only be accepted if there is room for more players on teams. A late fee of $50 will be charged after the registration deadline. For the Travel league, there are no refunds after teams are formed.

This registration session will allow you to sign consents and complete contact information. Following the completion of this registration, you will receive an invoice from Quickbooks within two days.

What if I want my athlete to play up?

Each player should register for the program that corresponds with the player's birthdate at the time of registration. If you are interested in your daughter being able to play up to a different program level, please send an email of interest to Jay Houghton at president@stmagfa.com. Move-ups will be reviewed on an individual basis with the policies currently in place.

Note: We do not have opportunities for 12U players to play up to 14U Travel.12U players must play 12U Travel.
